The Foundation believes all students in Billings Public Schools deserve a well-rounded education to prepare them for successful careers. Through endowments, scholarships, grants, and specific projects, the Foundation provides financial resources for students and educators in Billings Public Schools. Additionally, the Foundation serves as a partner between our community and schools to support opportunities for volunteers, mentors, and community engagement. The Foundation works in cooperation with the public school system, but operates independently as a 501c3. The Education Foundation is overseen by an Executive Director with a volunteer board of directors composed of community leaders.
The Foundation’s major programs and activities include Food Insecurity Programs, Saturday Live, Classroom Grants, Scholarships, Reading Rocks, Partners in Education, and special projects to improve student learning in our classrooms.
Mobile Food Program Coordinator Seasonal Position: The Education Foundation is seeking a talented, organized individual with strong communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate the mobile food program from June 16 through August 29, 2025.

Mobile Food Program Coordinator Seasonal Position: The Education Foundation is seeking a talented, organized individual with strong communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate the mobile food program from June 16 through August 29, 2025.
Position Requirements
- Preferred experience working with the educational system, nutrition services, customer service or similar fields.
- Strong communication skills, including interpersonal and written skills
- Highly self-directed
- Strong people skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to lift at least 30 pounds
- Successful completion of Servsafe training, a required food handling certificate. Training can be completed after hire.
- Ability to work with students with compassion and understanding to recognize the level of food insecurity they experience, treating all people with dignity and respect.
- Support the Food Insecurity Program Manager with executing the summer Mobile Food Program. Program will include daily routes Tuesday through Thursday for eight weeks through June, July and August. Routes and exact times will be determined in mid-May 2025 once we finish program enrollment. 275 - 350 students are expected to enroll.
- Help develop efficient routes and schedules to serve the enrolled students.
- Share appropriate program content for website and social media.
- Communicate regularly with families using the Remind app.
- Complete reports for the number of students served daily.
- Inventory van supplies and work with the program manager to ensure the van is adequately stocked.
- Distribute food, recipes, books, hygiene items, etc. at each site to registered students.
- Represent the Education Foundation within the community, promoting awareness for all food insecurity programs, including the mobile food program.
- Regularly clean the van ensuring food and items are stored hygienically.
- Contribute to the Education Foundation team with regular updates, communication and board reports.
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned.
- Reports to Food Insecurity Program Manager
- Compensation is competitive based on experience
- Starting pay ranges $20-$22/hour depending on experience and qualifications.
- Hours are expected to be 25 hours per week, but may adjust based upon actual registrations to the program. Not to exceed 30 hours per week.
